Sleepout for Veteran Homeless

NU AFROTC Detachment 867, led by COL Mark Ciero, Dean, CoNS (College of National Services (all the Services represented here at NU)) and Commander (and Post 1819 member), held an event on the Northfield Common on Friday April 19 to help bring awareness to the plight of homeless veterans and raise funds for The Veterans Place in Northfield. There were speakers and music on Friday evening and with COL Ciero and numerous cadets sleeping out that night in an improvised shelter. This was a joint effort with coffee, water, and snacks provided by Sodexo, NU Fac Ops supporting with awnings, chairs, podium, pallets, cardboard, tarps, and rope, Northfield Post 63 providing bathroom facilities and cash donation and Post 1819 providing tarps, burn barrel & firewood, meat, broth, cardboard, and cash donation.
