Norwich Legacy March 2023

The Norwich University Legacy March 2023 was a success! Post 1819 and AFROTC Detachment 867 provided food Friday night to Legacy Marchers so that they had a hot meal after a long day marching. Here is a synopsis of the event:

• 50 marchers + 15 support + 4 AFROTC support All NU cadets, including 4 students from Taiwan)+ John and me. 71 total served for dinner.
• Tunbridge General Store came through with 4 huge trays of meat lasagna.
• Carpenter & Main went “above & beyond” and made egg noodles and “Hunter chicken with mushroom” and apple/cranberry crumble.
• Jasper Murdoch Alehouse supplied the dinner rolls& three tubs of butter, not to mention a pint on the house while I chatted with the bartender and manager!
• The food was out of this world! We had one whole tray of lasagna left after we all ate “more than our fill.” Left the 2 dozen extra rolls and butter for mid-night snack
• P1819 did the Ceasar salad, cookies, drinks (Diet Coke, Sprite and bottled water) , paper plates, cutlery, sterno trays, garbage bags , misc. utensils and bowls.
• Tyler Phipps and Legacy March leadership team was awesome to work with and overall a great collaboration. We really just showed up with the food and they handled set-up, serving, and helped with clean-up.
• Legacy March anticipates donating over $3,500 to The Veterans Place
