“Do you have 8 minutes?”
Recently Colm Walker NU ’05, US Army spoke on the “Legacy of Learning” podcast, and during it he spoke about the new phrase being used today for when someone needs some help and someone to listen to them. Along the lines of our NU Buddy Check, Colm discusses the “Do you have 8 minutes?” at about the 26:17 minute mark in the video. In it he explains “Research has shown that most of the time when you’re in a jam and you feel that you need help and you just want somebody to help you out, all it takes is 8 minutes. It’s just an 8 minute catch up conversation, it can pull you out of whatever funk you’re in, can reconnect you to somebody that knows or cares about you, and you care about them.”
